A full-body mole screening with immediate results

This service is for anyone who wants their skin and moles checked on the same day by a trained dermatologist. Dr. Bela offers an in-depth consultation and risk assessment during your appointment. It’s a fast and thorough way to track any changes over time and spot any changes that might indicate skin cancer.

How is it different from mole mapping?

Mole mapping is designed for patients with lots of moles or a higher risk of melanoma, using stored digital imaging to track changes annually. Mole check without mole mapping, however, involves direct dermatoscopic examination of every mole during your appointment. Images are only taken of atypical moles for later comparison during a follow-up visit.

What should I expect from the consultation?

During your mole check, Dr. Bela will examine every mole on your body using a handheld dermatoscope. This device helps magnify the mole structure and detect changes not visible to the naked eye. You’ll receive an immediate medical opinion and detailed skin cancer risk profile. If a mole could be suspicious, we will recommend mole removal and send it for histological analysis.

Why is it important to check every mole?

It’s common for patients to be concerned about one mole, but melanoma may be hiding in another area. By checking all moles and skin lesions, we increase the chance of early detection. A full-body check helps identify new moles, changes to an existing mole, and skin lesions you may not have noticed.

What happens if something needs to be removed?

If mole removal is required, we will explain the next steps clearly. Dr. Bela can perform most mole removals, but he also works with plastic surgeons and trusted referral partners. Removal includes histological analysis.

Will I receive advice on protecting my skin?

Yes. You will be educated on how to protect your skin, follow the ABCDE rule, and check your skin regularly. You’ll also learn the signs of skin cancer: changes in shape or colour, itching and new or evolving lesions.

What about cosmetic moles?

If you’re concerned about the cosmetic appearance of moles, we can advise on safe removal methods. While the priority is exclusion of melanoma, aesthetic outcomes are also considered where appropriate.
